Emerging Choreographers Project Summer Residency
Now Seeking Dancers Ages 14+
Register to participate in a one week only choreography residency with the 2022 Emerging Choreographers Project winner Kylie Vinitski. Dancing alongside Jodie Randolph Dance Company professional dancers, participants will be provided with networking opportunities with working professional dancers and choreographers, professional photos and videos of the performance and creative process, and more! This year's residency will take place August 15th-20th in Ann Arbor, MI. The original work created during the residency will premier at the August 20th Brighton Dance Festival Showcase and will also be performed at the December 3rd YDI Company Concert in Kalamazoo and the December 17th YDI Company Concert in Ann Arbor (optional pending dancer availability).

MEET YOUR 2021 EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHER, KYLIE VINITSKI!
Kylie Vinitski, originally from Livonia, MI graduated from Western Michigan University in April 2019 with her BFA in Dance. At Western, she had the privilege of working with choreographers Jeremy Blair, Monique Haley, and Joshua Manculich, and dancing in Kate Skarpetowska’s Tidal Intersections and Aszure Barton’s Happy Little Things (Waiting on a Gruff Cloud of Wanting). Kylie has attended New Dialect’s intensive in Nashville, TN where she worked with Banning Bouldin as well as the GAGA program in New York City where she worked with Bobbi Jene Smith and the dancers in the Batsheva Dance Ensemble. While working towards her undergrad, Kylie danced with Contexture Dance Detroit directed by Tracy Halloran, where she has been given opportunities to perform at the Detroit Dance City Festival, Dumbo Dance Festival, and the Michigan Dance Festival Gala. In fall 2019, Kylie moved to Chicago to dance on scholarship at Hubbard Street’s Lou Conte Dance Studio where she worked with Shannon Alvis under the mentorship of Ethan Kirshbaum. While living in Chicago she performed and choreographed with Alluvion Dance Chicago and Movementum Dance Project. Kylie’s choreography has been performed in Chicago at both Simantikos Dance Chicago’s Chi Dance Fest and the Emergence Dance Festival. Kylie relocated to Metro-Detroit in 2021 where she now dances professionally with both Contexture Dance Detroit and ArtlabJ. Kylie teaches all ages styles of dance at both Jeannie Zimbalatti’s School of Dance and Kelley’s Dance Craze and guest teaches at various schools and studios around Metro-Detroit. Most recently Kylie has been choreographing for Churchill High School’s CAPA dance program where her choreography was chosen as a finalist at the 2021 Oakland Dance Festival adjudication competition.
