Samantha is a current senior at Greenhills School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She began her dance training at the age of 5 in Cleveland, Ohio. This proceeded to her dancing competitively in the Ann Arbor and Dexter area beginning in 2010, studying various styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and tap. There she studied vigorously under instructors including Amanda France, Jillian Turner and Elli Fackelman. She has also attended an assortment of conventions, dance intensives, and competitions including Complexions DSI, Brighton Dance Festival, University of Michigan Dance Team workshops, Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance, KAR dance, Radix, Hollywood Connections, Hollywood Vibe, Encore Dance, and Disney National Contest of Champions. She’s received various awards and scholarships through these events and has studied under many notable choreographers, such as Phil Wright, Brooklyn Jai, Tina Caspery, Tessandra Chavez, Kathy King and Erik Abbot-Main. Additionally, Sam is the director of the dance program through the non profit organization, Peace Neighborhood, where she teaches dance to young elementary students from low-income families. Outside of dance, Sam is passionate about business and partakes in many clubs and activities where she is able to showcase her entrepreneurial spirit. One of these is working as an Outreach Intern for Jodie Randolph Dance. Samantha is thrilled to begin her second season with Young Dancer’s Initiative.
