Embodied was presented in December of 2019, the third annual collaboration between young dancers across the state of Michigan. Thank you to those of you who joined us in celebrating the excellence of youth artists in Michigan for a night of newly developed contemporary dance works. This concert was presented by Young Dancers Initiative and Eisenhower Dance Detroit Youth Ensemble with guest performances from The Dance Shoppe.

Meet Our CollaboratorsEisenhower Dance Detroit Youth Ensemble was founded in 2016 under the direction of Molly McMullen with strong support and guidance from the Eisenhower Dance Detroit professional company and organization. The mission of EDDYE is to provide aspiring students the highest caliber of dance education with a unique training environment in preparation for future professional careers in dance.

Meet the Guest ArtistsThe Dance Shoppe traces its roots back 37 years, when it was owned and operated by Terri Newman, formerly called Terri Newman’s Dance Shoppe. The traditions and values of strong technique with a family friendly atmosphere continue to thrive today, under the ownership of Lauren Lenter. Everyone truly is a star at the Dance Shoppe, from our youngest recreational dancers in our outstanding preschool program, to our award winning Classy Dancers competition team.
