Dorka started her dance training at the age of 10 (2013) in Budapest, Hungary at the Hungarian Dance Academy. Since then she has moved to the United States and became a student at the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet. She also joined Young Dancers Initiative (formerly X2) for her first season in 2017-18. In the past 5 years she has participated in many competitions and performances such as MYAF (Michigan Youth Arts Festival), YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix), the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and Swan Lake, as well as Echo with X2/YDI. Her dance education consists of classical ballet (including pointe work), jazz, character and ball dance, and 3 years of gymnastics, contemporary and modern dance. Because of all her travels, she has had the chance to work with many wonderful choreographers and masters including Dusty Button, Kathy King, Sean Howe, Slavka Bohuslava Jelinkova, Nikolai and Jessica Morschakov, Ivan Poroshin, Natalia Makina, Justin Alesna, Olga Korotava, and Marianna Lobanova, Megan Scheppelman, Jodie Randolph and more. This year, Dorka is very excited to enter her second season with YDI and can’t wait to continue her dance journey with such an amazing company.
