Home studio: Excel Dance Centre

Hannah joined YDI in 2021 at the start of Season Two. She has been dancing since age 3 and is currently at Excel Dance Centre in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She has been a part of Excel's Performing Company since 2016 and the Xpression Pre-professional Program since 2018, and was part of the XLR8 Pre-professional Program for two years. These programs have allowed her to perform pieces by many choreographers, including Seyong Kim, Angel Sutton, Kaitlyn Pollock, Liz Schmidt, Jesse Hoisington, Shelby Bensinger, and Eun Kyung Chung. With Excel, Hannah has also performed in Walt Disney World's Christmas Parade in 2019 and carried lead roles in Excel's production of The Nutcracker, including Little Clara, the Dewdrop Fairy, and Sugar Plum Fairy this upcoming December. Hannah is currently part of the National Honors Society of Dance Arts and is part of the Rising Teachers Program at Excel. In addition to a one-week intensive at Grand Rapids Ballet in both 2020 and 2021, Hannah participated in the YDI at BDF (Brighton Dance Festival) residency for the past two years, where she performed alongside YDI dancers and industry professionals in pieces choreographed by Haley Tarling and Kylie Vinitski. Hannah is very excited to start her third year with Young Dancers Initiative for their eleventh season!
